I agree with Relinquished: I'll sure give their new album (whenever it's coming) a chance. This album has some plusses over their last album, but the other way around in my opinion as well... If I put my favs from TSD and TIE together I'd say they would've had a solid album.
Lets hope their third does exactly that + some more originality and less (PLEASE) vocal layering, especially on fast parts...

Meh. Whitechapel have never really seized to impress me. Bringing out overrated deathcore to the table is what they do best.

so i realize that this thread has long since died but i am EXTREMELY bored at work and was looking for distractions and i find this one to be suitable for the moment.
foreverendeared: the vocals do have little to no processing. you need to see them live. that's how he sounds. he has some seriously epic growls and that weird gurgling thing is all him. one of my favorite singers in the scene for sure. and the three guitars really do shine live, as well. it truly does provide a much deeper sound to the band. many metal bands record multiple guitars on album to make them sound super full and then live it doesn't sound nearly as much so. there's only so much amplification and distortion can do. with whitechapel that's not the case. they're sound live is insanely heavy, thanks in large part to the third guitarist.

No doubt, bunit. He slays live.
I guess it can be hard to believe that a human can produce vocal sounds like this guy without any sort of effects, though. He's ridiculous.

Honestly I don't get why people complain about the three guitars. They do add something positive to the music. Also, I can hear the bass track fairly well and they even have the sense to leave parts for the bass to come through. The fact that the bass is there in the mix and has room to maneuver amongst three guitars speaks volumes about their song writing. Especially when compared to other death metal acts out there right now who cant even do that with 2 guitars. (Nile, JFAC and others)

Haha I have absolutely no trouble believing that.

I wouldn't really compare Whitechapel with Nile and Job For A Cowboy, but I agree with what you're saying for the most part.
