Haha yeah I'd started to pick up on that. I haven't actually listened to Identity Crisis in aaaaaages and I kinda just disregarded it as them being immature and stupid, which was excusable that early in their career. Maybe I should re-listen.
The thing about Beggars is, it doesn't really have any songs that I would say are among Thrice's best except maybe Circles, but as an overall album I found it to be their most cohesive and consistent. Vheissu and Major/Minor on the other hand, have songs I don't like that much (Listen Through Me, Music Box) mixed in with their absolute best (my favourite Thrice song and one of my favourite songs of all time is Disarmed, plus Words in the Water, For Miles, The Earth Will Shake etc.)

Identity Crisis is just so different from what they became. Most of the songs sound better elsewhere too. The title track sounds better acoustic, Phoenix Ignition sounds better live, T&C is fucking perfect in every version of existence, etc. It's got some sweet tunes though and was my second Thrice album after Artist a billion years ago.
The title track to Beggars is definitely in my top whatevernumber list of Thrice tracks. Music Box is amazing. You crazy negro. For Miles is definitely second best though after Daedalus

Hmm I'll listen to it sometime. Idk I just never dug Music Box that much, yeah I'm crazy but it drags the album down from a 5 imo.

A Torch to End All Torches is SO DAMN GOOD, plus those three you mentioned all rule face. And yeah, best band ever

I get that with bands I'm not familiar with sometimes. I'd say start with Vheissu.

Oh well maybe start with The Artist in the Ambulance album, idk. Ask XingKing he's the Thrice expert.

It depends on what you want since none of their albums really sound the same. Artist is probably the best starting place
|

I'd say Ambulance and then Vheissu, followed by Alchemy if you liked Vheissu more or Illusion if you liked Ambulance more

Under a Killing Moon through to Paper Tigers and then Blood Clots through to Abolition are so perfect

The only downside of Artist is Stare at the Sun. It's easily the weakest song
