I bought this cd today and listened to it 3 times. I have to say, The Heir Apparent and The Lotus Eater are amazing songs. Those 2 songs are definitely some of Opeth's best. Burden is a nice song and harks back to the Blackwater Park days with Harvest. But when Porcelain Heart came on I kind of found myself getting bored. Maybe I just need to give it a couple days to grow on me. There's definitely amazing things going on here on this cd, and for any other band this would be rediculously genius music. But for Opeth, my standards are very high. I still think that My Arms Your Hearse is their best cd with Blackwater Park right behind that. Maybe I'll adjust my rating after a few more days of listening to this. Yes that song is weak for sure, and the video is even worse. Like I said for any other band this would be good music but Mikael has built up such a reputation for himself as far as songwriting goes and I just think that he let a few things slip here. Either way, solid release, but its not to their normal caliber. I wasn't even much of a fan of the Ghost Reveries cd. I guess I'm old school when it comes to Opeth.

I like all the tracks. Porcelain Heart is pretty awesome too, really melodious but also heavy. The atmosphere on that song in particular is brilliant.
