Fearful deceiver, dim motives erratic

This dream too ambitious, this vision too drastic

Choke down rhetorical scraps from the attic

Forever to stand there and still just refuse to

CHAAAAAAAAAAAAANGE!

Damn these lyrics I love them.

So I've been listening to Feathergun and while instrumentally the album sounds a bit more original (read: a bit less like Tool), the vocal performances aren't nearly as captivating as they are on this album.

I still love his performance on Feathergun. He just sounds more, human here I guess.

Yeah, that's a pretty good way to put it. Here he emotes much better. On Feathergun he sounds a bit like he's doing vocal gymnastics for the sake of doing them and it's not really serving the song.

I wouldn't go that far but he's certainly more interesting on here. Though Scissorlips, Katsushika, and Diamond Eyes all showcase awesome performances.

I don't think they really sound like tool, but the production just makes this unlistenable for me : (

How much have you listened to this JS? Cause te production was a problem for me at first. But the more I listened the more I looked past it.

I've had it for a few years now, and a fair bit. I have a serious problem with production though. I can barely listen to anything that's worse than average production-wise

Idk it just has way too many merits to look at it's production like that for me. Yea it's not the best but it's all about the vocals and lyrics for me. But I can totally understand it irking you. I've had it for a few years too so if it hasn't changed for you now maybe it won't change.

they're also all really well written musically, not complex or long or anything but just really great

atmospheres... In Pill Form is beautiful and something only these guys would think of
