To Sheila is one of the most beautiful openers, damn.

Jamming this constantly atm.

Excellent stuff here, even if it's a bit scary to listen to it all in one listen at first.

How come?

Probably because it's such a stylistic departure from their earlier stuff.

Pretty much, that could be a detracting factor for people who loved Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and would be expecting more of the same. That and the length of it could turn listeners off of it at first sight.

Change is good though.

Of course, and it definitely paid off here. I'm just saying that from a perspective of someone who may not know about the change in style for SP beforehand.

It's a good album, but it's certainly different from what came before.
To me SP is all about the gazey riffs and wild drumming, which aren't here.

They're great doing that, but I always loved the more mellow, shoegazey side of theirs a bit more.

Pug might be my favourite SP song at the moment. That chorus is stellar.

Behold!/Martha/Blank Page are my three favourites and handily lined up in a row
I really like With Every Light off Machina that plays like a reaction to the bleakness of this trio and the death of his old ma

i'm usually geared further toward the more "electronica" side of things on here when i want to listen to this album, but for martha is indeed a pretty damn strong song when you're in the mood for it
that live disc that came with the reissue of this album last year is pretty stellar, as well

For Martha is amazing. Love how this record seems so personal to Corgan, with the death of his mother and that.

Same here man, a lot of the tracks here have a bit of an eerie quality because of that.
