"Deliverance was so poorly recorded, without any organisation whatsoever," Ã…kerfeldt claimed.

He -really- wanted to write Damnation, which is the superior album.

Opeth's best album and along with Still Life puts them in a different league compared to their other metal offerings.

Not their best by any means. But the ending part of Deliverance has to be the best thing they've done; nothing else jumps to mind. So amazing...

hehe, the other metal albums (i.e. not Damnation or Heritage) just don't much for me. If you take away Deliverance's awesome heavy riffage and interesting time signatures you're left with a fairly bland and formulaic sound which is what dominates Blackwater Park, Ghost Reveries and Watershed. Boring. Like elevator music with growlz.

So do I, he was more suited for Opeth than Axenrot

Nah. Looking back, Blackwater Park is now their weakest album.

You can find something just as good (or better) that sounds similar to almost everything from Blackwater Park on MAYH, Still Life, Ghost Reveries or this album.

BWP is good but a bit too poppy. Feels a bit too much like U2 at times, blerk.

Not yet JT.

Jamming Deliverance right now.

Their heaviest album so far. However I need to jam My Arms, Your Hearse asap.

Deliverance, A Fair Judgement, Master's Apprentices and By the Pain I See in Others are all awesome tracks.
