This barely sounds like Tool
Effloresce has One Day All This Will Be Yours, now that is a true Tool-influenced song

"This barely sounds like Tool"
Sure. They sound like a lot of bands, and Tool is one of them.
I just wanted to annoy the tool haters in this thread tbh

I'm willing to admit they sound marginally like Tool, sometimes. Damn that was hard.

Lol your ears don't lie

Marginally maybe, though not on this album, but there are a lot more influences i picked up on over the years. Tool may jump out more than Mogwai in terms of immediate audible influence

I can definitely understand the comments on this being less accessible than the previous ones. Gonna let this sink a little before I even think about a rating but I really like it.

oh yeah lol this takes a while to pick apart. Unfamiliar and Trail of Fire are your friends to start off with

I liked thos two. Savant was jaw-dropping and those strings were magnificent. A few of the longer post-rocky tracks will need some growing though and Sleeping Dogs was an interesting choice. Prob doesn't help that I should head to bed. Too tired to really digest this haha

I don't really hear a lot of Tool in Oceansize tbh

They sound slightly like Tool on parts of their first two albums, maybe. Nowhere on this, though.
I found this on CD for a dollar. It came with the DVD and everything. One of my luckiest ever purchases. Unfamiliar, Trail of Fire, Only Twin... fuck, this is such a good album.
Savant might be one of my favourite songs ever. I swear I must have listened to it literally hundreds of times over the last few years, and it still gets me.
