i disagree with you but mostly because of the lack of specific examples. there seems to be much of your opinion dished out in generalities.

I would really like to know which exact parts in the album you dislike or consider so awful.

well written though... not a bad review by any means

Nobody said everyone has to like everything. Personally, I view this album is a work of art and the reviewer comes off as a tad pretentious himself. Seemingly swayed by hype and opinion in a negative fashion.

We're all victims of our own bias, though.

The people who don't like BTBAM's "colors" cd, is because of the Death parts, or their wierd transitions/choatic song writeing.

as weird as some of their stuff comes across though it i think it's rather ingenious. several of the song transitions on colors strikes me as defiant and edgy instead of unaware or poorly executed

I feel you. Can't say nothin to that, I don't even know if I can say I disagree lol. A lot of people here LOOOVE Blackwater Park, but I find that to be one of Opeth's most boring and uninspired albums (Still Life is my sh!t). It's tough to explain why it doesn't "do it" for me, just like with this album.

That being said, I will reiterate what I said on another review for this album; White Walls kicks my a$$ into next week.

Don't Forget "Ants in the Sky" thats probably just as good as "White Walls". Both are classics.

nobody will forget that track. promise.

at one point i would let myself nap listening to sun of nothing... that's not as odd as falling asleep to crimes by blood brothers though i guess

Well Sun of Nothing does get peaceful in some parts, so I can see it. I usually go to sleep/nap to Agalloch because its so relaxing.

when i was little my dad used to put on classical music every night in our rooms and we'd crash out to that.
