most of their best songs are on beggars or sticky fingers for me. kinda dont think they were the best at throwing together albums tho bc beggars's flow is pretty janky and it has some stuff i dont like

beggars has street fighting man which is good but i dont really like most of their stuff after satanic majesties. theyre kinda like the who in that regard, i love meaty beaty and the who sell out but basically everything from tommy onwards is very not good imo

whos next is by far the whos best material but otherwise agreed. jammed both tommy and quadrophenia this week for the first time in a while and both have aged badly and were incredibly hard to sit through

tumbling dice is a solid 3/5
shine a light and let it loose are probably my favorites here from what i remember. not all of this sucks but theres some really bad stuff here too

i have a probably sort of irrational hatred for whos next because it feels like the beginning of many tropes in rock music that i dont like

The issue with this album is Rocks Off is the greatest rock and roll song of all time by hundreds of miles and so everything after feels just okay even tho in actuality it’s still really good

Checking this again...massive influence on Wilco's double album 'Being There' that's for sure

Have a feeling this album might end up holding the record for the most songs I rate 4 out of 5 in the tracklist of any I know - a lot of stuff is really good without going above that level, and it rarely dips below a 4 out of 5 in quality either.

Starting to love this album and the Stones in general.
Feel I'm on that 'realising the Stones are a lot more fun to listen to (and crack a beer open to) than the Beatles will ever be' journey a lot of people go on.
