'The Blinding Light' and 'Up Against the Ropes' are awesome. Tight band, better than most metalcore.

I think fanboyish statements like that are kinda killing whatever reputation this album/band have left.

Maybe I haven't listened enough, but I fail to see anything by standard, basic metalcore here. It's pretty well done, but it's also pretty bland and boring.

I agree somewhat, but there's something about this album that makes it more fun to listen to.

^^^ I agree, some of the songs on here are excellent, and I love the drumming as well.

I hate Metalcore but this is pretty decent.
The 5/4 Breakdown in Backburner is pretty good.

This album is amazing. So much talent, not many bands can match the vocalist live or the drummer. I don't see how this album can get anything below a 3.5 unless you just don't enjoy the genre.

i have a theory about this album, first of all its one of my favorite albums EVER,
but when this band first came into the "scene" and became known for their tech skills, obviously they had to up the ante but as they grew as musicians they through in ALOT more breakdowns than the first album, like so many to where if its not heard live its actually a little annoying after about the 6th track or so,the reason for that i think is because they got more tech on this album They needed a middle point to meet each other to play "catch-up" per say from all the technically insanity that ensues throughout this album,i think my theory makes a little more sense than just some people saying"they sold out". they play very well for their age but we all need a break at some point.i think on the next album they're just gonna have fun and play stuff that sounds hard to us but is just under the limit for them because they've grown ONCE MORE.mainly i think they tried to have a fair balance of Tech-Epic-Hardcore on this album which they did,so figure:
Truth of a liar-Hardcore/Epic
Up against the ropes-Epic/Tech/Hardcore
BackBurner-Tech/Hardcore
The Blinding Light-Tech/Hardcore
Composure-Epic/Hardcore
Vital Signs-Hardcore/Tech
The Eleventh Hour-Tech/TECH/Epic/HARDCORE
The Balance-Hardcore/Tech
Black Sheep-Epic/Tech
American Dream-Epic/Hardcore
Redemption-Epic/Hardcore
i hope everyone can understand this
