I should have worded that as "my favorite music usually has good music and 'profound' lyrics that go hand in hand". I need both a lot of the time.

Vague and cryptic lyricism works well for me mostly. But competent vocalists and strong and interesting vocal melodies in the vox department are still a MUST! ;)

Sound, agree with what you said on the music/vocal melodies being the carrying element.

"this guy just isnt my cup of tea i suppose"

I agree with you there. Like I've said in the past, Steven Wilson is like a robot. I just don't like how sterile he sounds, as well as the music.

Baseline you are annoying as fuck. I honestly Potato must have got you confused with someone else on this site because I thought you enjoyed this band.

Trains rules and I don't even remember anything else from here. Oh well I have a 3.5 so I must've enjoyed it at some point

It's a grower. I started at a 3.5 as well and only really loved the first two tracks. Now I love the whole thing.

Yeah, I feel like now I'd like this album a lot more than I was first introduced to it. I'll give it a few more tries (although I seem to say that about every album and never bother to follow through)

I always thought Train was the weakest track on the album. The rest is just flawless.

Trains seems to be most people's favorite, but it's Blackest Eyes for me.

It's the most accessible, that's why. It's catchy and melodic.
