It's hard to take these guys seriously, but this album has some genuinely great songs on it.

Well of course you can't take them seriously, look at them. They make some great music though.

The last three songs are probably the best to me, with Beyond the North Waves being my favorite.

That's what makes them awesome. They don't take themselves that seriously. They just write kickass music. And to say that they only released 3 albums worthwhile....that is absurd.

I like these guys so much because they don't take themselves to seriously. Same with Fenriz and Darkthrone. Varg's still off kicking little kids and being evil and pagan, but this is more tongue-in-cheek than anything.

But Hawks is right, Blizzard Beasts is the only one i don't particularly like.

I agree with you guys. They do this shit for fun. They don't go burn churches like everyone else used to. Beyond the North Waves is also my favorite here with the title track and Tyrants not far behind.

I'd say the ones who took it seriously ultimately made better music though lol.

What about One by One? C'mon, that track is awesome.

I mean I guess that could be true in some cases, but not completely.

What about One by One? C'mon, that track is awesome.

That's a great one too.

Nah, I like Immortal, but they'll never be on the same plane as Mayhem, Emperor, Burzum, etc.

I agree they're not as good as Burzum or Emperor, but I would say they have more quality albums than those bands. Not as good though. And I think they're better than Mayhem, even though Mayhem is awesome too.

Eh, well Mayhem is my favorite bm band next to Drudkh so I will have to disagree with you there.

Well I love Mayhem, don't get me wrong, I just don't think they're as good. Mayhem has 4 quality albums while Immortal has 5 or 6.

Maybe so, but the fact that Mayhem made DMDS alone is enough to make them better than Immortal lol.

I would take this or At the Heart of Winter over De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas any day. That is an amazing album too though.

You should. It's a true black metal classic in every sense of the word. Attila's vocals really make it too. He didn't try and copy anyone else's vocal style and just did something completely crazy and original, and it fits the album perfectly.
