Yay!
You probably wont even recognize the band if you only know Heart Stops by them.

Oh no, I've listened to Jupiter several times. I've just never rated it! I'm not quite sure how I feel about it though. The vocals sort of irk me

Ah. You aren't the first person to tell me that. I like Brodsky's cleans. I didn't really think much of him when I first heard the band, but they grew on me quite a bit. I do really like Caleb's harsh vox, tho.
Actually, you would probably dig Zozobra pretty hard. Its Caleb's side project They bounce around between sludge, post metal and hardcore. Its awesome.

Just those genres combined sounds awesome to me! I will definitely check them out
I like the harsh vox for sure and the cleans are solid for the most part, but sometimes... I don't even know. I still like the record though

That's cool. Do you have a stand out song? I have always really liked Big Riff. But, yeah, if you want to hear more of their heavy, also check out those songs I shoutboxed you.
For Zozobra, I would say their first album is more on the post metal side, second is geared more sludgey, and their latest is the most on the hardcore side. Its pretty much all harsh vox, too.

I'd need to listen a lot more to pick a favorite track. It really is insane the change they went though. Hell, they really might as well be a different band.
Remind me to check out Zozobra sometime that is not tonight!

Ha ha, will do.
Yeah, Cave In's discography just leaps and bounds from genre to genre on each album. They had a tendancy to give you a peek at what they were gonna do next with each EP they released between albums.

I like when bands do that. Darkest Hour has always said that the last song on the album is a little doorway into what the next album will sound like and I like to imagine that I do the same thing

Rowan > all the other Rowans
Nice. I probably would have said that no matter which track you picked tho. I don't believe I am familiar with this Darkest Hour.

True I mean I do like myself more than any other Rowan I've met
Then again I've never met another Rowan
And my name isn't even Rowan

Rowan > all the other Rowans [2]
I watched the Master the day of his death as remembrance. Guy was fucking amazing and it's tragic that he had to go out the way he did.
Darkest Hour is very much like those metalcore bands who ripped off At the Gates but they have a more hardcore influenced sound (and the vocalist of At the Gates even sang on a song of theirs!!) and they are sort of a guilty pleasure that I don't feel very guilty about liking

I watched the Master, Magnolia, and Punch Drunk Love the day after
None of which I'd seen before that day
What an experience

That's irrelevant, rowseph. You are still the best of your kind!
So, what all do you consider At The Gates rip off bands? Or are there too many to list?
