So do lots of bands. In fact different time signatures are quite common in this type of metal, especially in breakdowns.
Definitely more technical than prog, but still pretty damn good. This Message Edited On 12.18.08

Its a tech death band with progressive influence.
I don't know what else to say. I don't care if this band is not ub33r tech crap because atleast this is actually listenable compared to most of the other prog death bands that all sound the same. This Message Edited On 12.18.08

You'd f***ing think that if two people liked the same band they wouldn't bi*** about it.
I like the Faceless because they sound good, seriously, wtf. I can't even like the Californian tech metal scene anymore???
The death metal scene is a pain -- it's impossible to discuss music when everyone is to arrogant to even see the discussion infront of them. This Message Edited On 12.18.08

It's impossible to discuss music with someone who dismisses 99% of metal music

I said death metal.
I listen to metalcore, screamo, prog metal, power metal, symphonic black metal and every other genre of metal and i'm fine.
However, Half the damn death scene is suicide silence and a million other posers. There aren't many death bands outside of the tech and melodic scene that play anything original. That's what i'm saying and that's why I love the faceless so much -- they have some originality. This Message Edited On 12.18.08

You seem to be a little mistaken. Suicide Silence and bands of that ilk are deathcore and are indeed pretty poor. But they do not make up the majority of the death metal scene, there are plenty of fantastic death bands - Cynic, In Mourning, Arghoslent, Be'Lakor, Swallow The Sun, Gorod, Impaled, Benighted; of which only Gorod would come under technical death metal. I should also point out a lot of melodic death metal is very unoriginal and generic as well these days.

I guess this album is ok but I dunno it bores me sometimes...
Honestly I think I'd rather listen to the soundtrack of Cannibal: The Musical
