Is the stuff after this even worth listening to? I remember when the singles for If Not Now When were coming out and being pretty thoroughly surprised at just how bland they had become
This one had some boring shit, but "Anna Molly" is like a top 5 Incubus track so it evened out a bit

"Could have gone on SCIENCE and no one would have complained."
W/ Mike's old "nu-metal" tone and some scratching over the top you're probably not wrong, lol

why the fuck is love hurts so bad like halfway through the album and every song murders but that one which maybe their worst song pre 8

Love Hurts is terrible.
But yeah this album is pretty underrated. Quicksand/A Kiss to send us off, Anna Molly, Oil and Water, Dig, Earth to Bella Pt 1...allawesome.
It’s been awhile since I listened to this. Might have to spin it.

Love Hurts is noooot thaaaat baaad
Earth to Bella kinda sucks though, imo, aside from the big "hammer over head" electric parts but, y'know, that doesn't save the song

I don't know I've tried giving it more chances but the acoustic bits just always sound like a bad campfire song to me

its got a pretty nice melody and the louder parts feel earned in the context of the song which make them all the more powerful sounding and sick
not on the level of like kiss to send us off anna molly or rogues but its still tight

I acknowledge the heavier parts need those acoustic sections it's mainly the content of those sections themselves, sounds almost like Brandon's first attempt writing a song or something, which can be charming in concept I just don't particularly think it is here

fair enough i mean I thought it worked (which results in pt 1 being easily the better one) but different strokes and such
