ngl this doesn't strike me as any kind of elevation to the standard thats been set by any other beloved tech death of the last 20+ years nor does it sound like its ushering in any 'new' anything. i'm on 'Inversion' right now and it's been a dull ride.

This doesn't really set any new standard [2].

Aside from the heightened focus on melody, this is just more proof that Ulcerate are of a technical level that most of their contemporaries can not reach.

Well yeah if you like your metal solely with catchy riffs you can nod your head to and consumer-friendly sing/yell/scream-along hooks, a band whose focus is on dissonance obviously won't be for you
