The new album is great, not sure if it's better than ICV tho.

Listened to the TLWAT and I really like it. It's more newpeth than oldpeth for sure, but also has the opethian vibes GR and Warershed have. It's also more restrained than ICV, which I obviously also really like, but it's quite messy record, while on TLWAT there are also a lot of moments when there isn't every instrument present all the time. Feels more focused

The singles made me a bit hesitant since they sometimes go for that Dream Theatre kind of sound which I really dislike, but we'll see! Listening this weekend.

I was the same hawks, i love the new one as well. To give a shortened version of my sound off for it: it sort of marrys both styles pretty much in a way that doesnt make either the prog rock or the death metal lose out or prioritise

Yep its giving me very heavy Watershed vibes as people have already mentioned. Rips so hard.

Its wayyyy too early to start putting it ahead of Watershed but it is at least almost on par with it based on initial thoughts.

It gets a tad wanky at times but it definitely gives off more of a psychedelic vibe to me and the darker dm parts are back with a vengeance. Definitely most closely connected to GR/Watershed era and I'm loving it so much.

Im honestly calling it progressive death rock, it does bring back the Opeth magic atmosphere though

It really blew away all expectations I had. Was not expecting it to blow me completely away like it did. One of my fav bands of all time finally got back to their roots while keeping all of the elements that made this album so great. Such a perfect blend.
