I won't lie, my knowledge is lacking somewhat as there's a ton of older important 'core' releases I intend on going through, but I'm yet to hear anything even remotely close to Converge, or tDEP (they scratch slightly different itches too).

Nah, they've got 4 excellent (to exceptional) LPs, 1 excellent EP and another very good one. Then they swung and missed/half-missed a couple of times towards the end (although OOUITK desperately needs a re-jam).

Calculating Infinity is a genre classic, no debate

And Petitioning can’t be best core of the 90s because When Forever Comes Crashing is better

or both Petitioning and WFCC are two of the best core albums of the 90s

One Of Us Is the Killer gets too much undeserved flak for being TDEPs most melodic album

Disagree man. I like a lot of the ‘90s core bands like Botch and Cave In etc, but I’m with Demon on this. Converge and TDEP are just on another level to me.

I just assumed the site knew I wasn’t cool enough for one so it never let me have it

Gonna have to disagree on that one and also petitioning and wfcc sound nothing like botch

My comment was in response to whoever saying Converge has had the best metalcore records for three straight decades. I wasn’t comparing those records to Botch but pointing out that WATR is leagues ahead of PTES and WFCC, though there seems to be a decent amount disagreeing with me lol

I agree We Are the Romans is better than Petitioning the Empty Sky. In my opinion, WATR is the best 90s, Jane Doe 00s, and The Sanity Universal is the best 10s, unless something insane comes out in the 2020s. I'm predicting a lot of crazy metalcore records are gonna come out next year, so we'll see.

Deathofasalesman The Sanity Universal is undoubtedly the best of the 10s. I think I also agree with We Are the Romans for the 90s but there was so much good shit it’s hard to definitely say. As for the 00s, it’s either Jane Doe or Challenger.
