Can't necessarily deny that, probably one of my least favorite here (though I don't hate it).

Ever considered that a song called “Sleep Well Beast” might be intended to be a “snoozer”? Shift your perspective, it’s a 5/5 song, does what it’s trying to do perfectly.

A song can be slow and dynamically tranquil without being a “snoozer,” though.

May 5 this tbh... the middle doesn't bother me nearly as much as it does others, especially turtleneck

seeing turtleneck live made me like it a bit more. it's a solid rock song, harmless at worst

Have a feeling the new album will pick up where this one left off, though I'm not sure how many punchier cuts it'll have

Can't believe this one is (almost) half a decade old already.

Honestly if Turtleneck wasn't so awkwardly wedged into this album I'd 5 it too. Imho it reallllly kills its momentum at the midway mark. It just doesn't fit in, at all, and really should've been left out.

On the brightside, when I saw these guys a few weeks ago they played some new stuff and it really harkened back to their golden era so I'm quite optimistic their new album is gonna be another gem and not the kind of dud that IAETF was.

tough to disagree, should've been left as a b-side or saved for a comp. fun song tho

Interesting, holistic album experiences are important to me too but I can't think of a case where one song would bring a whole album down from a 5 to 4. I don't love Turtleneck but I don't hate it either, and the rest of the album is consistent enough in quality and atmosphere that it doesn't bring the whole thing down for me.
