I’ve come to terms with the fact that this is probably a one off and maybe you guys should too lol

The fact they still communicate semi-regularly and mention a new album has me hopeful. They haven't up and disappeared yet, but expectations are definitely tempered.

I'm probably overrating this because it was once an important record for me. Nowadays though, I only care to return to River, So Stay Close, Here Is Where, and South Street.

holds up hard, i tend to just pick whatever song i'm feeling and just let it play.

also yeah, there's no way they're just NOT gonna release the stuff they've been posting studio pics for over the last who knows how many years so i'm sure we're getting it at some point lol

This album just seems to be written for me. Sounds sadistic but as an atheist I really enjoy the lyrical topic of people struggling with their faith. The Good Days also reminds me of when my house kept flooding from weather and going back to the same neighborhood and it “feeling” wildly different. Like a childhood place being disturbed.

My issue with the album is outside of the songs I listed I feel like there isn't as much to cling on to. Like those particular tracks are so much more memorable than anything else.

Yeah even the songs that I wouldn’t necessarily come to as standalones to wonders for the album flow. Like House is Aglow makes the entrance of South Street hit that much harder, and the tension it creates is indispensable to the feel of the record as a whole

So Stay Close is still one of my favourite songs ever. There's a key that plays as it's leading into the chorus that I absolutely love. It's really subtle but beautiful

Interestingly enough Gyro, the band has said that "Stay Close" was on the cutting room floor and a last-minute addition. Kinda amazing how it was almost binned but something about it made them wrap it up.
