I can appreciate this album for what it is, and not for what Opeth used to be. I think I have "some sense" regardless of the fact my opinion on a single album doesn't line up with you...
If you compare this to old Opeth you are going to have a skewed view.

Pale Communion won't be as good as this but it'll still be better than a lot of the albums that came between MAYH and this.
