The lotus eater is a badass track too. Burden is probably one of their most accesible tunes, otherwise is really consistent.

I do like Heritage as a progressive rock record. I despise Heritage as an Opeth record.

But Akerfeldt doesn't thrash, so they're incomparable.

But what he did with this album does not

Could do with some growls halfway through the album. Almost all of the harsh vocals are contained in the first half, they should have been spread out more. Instead you have Heir Apparent, The Lotus Eater and then a big gap until midway through Hessian Peel
|
| |
My problem is the fact that the growls as spread out too thinly, and when they re-emerge on Hessian Peel, it throws you off. The album sounds disjointed at times loses a bit energy after The Lotus Eater.

Yeah, Burden is my fav off the album.

Burden got boring quick, keyboard solo's incredible though.
"Could do with some growls halfway through the album"
His clean vocals are great, and I'm glad that he's transitioned to complete clean on Heritage, more refreshing and passionately done
|
| |
It's more where the growls are placed rather than the amount that bother me. They could have been spread out more evenly.
