It’s hard to consider production when an album is full of songs as good as these.

But if you take the average of the actual averages of those albums it's like a 4.3, lol. Those are actually the safest 5's I've ever seen. Suspiciously so.

Deicide isn't safe, not as a 5/5.

In Flames get flamed (haha) regularly, but that one is generally respected, not more so than TJR or Whoracle though.

Neutral Milk Hotel is obvious but divisive.

I was going to say that isn't the typical National 5, but these days it has gained so much traction that maybe it is.

I guess the artists themselves are obvious in that they're all well known, if that's what you meant.

Ahah pretty sure if you ask randomly 1000 people noone will know DsO ahah...but in general most of those albums are well known because they are obvious classics wether historicaly, or technicaly or to the genre...we shouldn t avoid the obvious to look cool lolol (not against your rates Demon but replying to the "safe fives" observation.)

They're only 'obvious' in the context of this website (apart from a couple), so yes I agree with you there. I'm thinking of revamping my 5/5s for my 10k comments 'celebration'... it's overdue as I haven't changed any for ages.
