Having a hard time getting into this Dave?

A little bit, not feeling it as quickly as ASTNS, for some reason i thought they would switch again to their epic take on the 90's stuff, loved their most melancholic side on ASTNS, but hearing it here again is like....eh. We'll see tho

Honestly this album was a hard nut to crack for me too. All I had heard about this was that it was so accessible and easy to get into and TSIB was the opposite, but that was the opposite of my experience w/ both albums. TSIB clicked and almost immediately became one of my favorite albums and I wasnt sure what to think about this one.



Give it time, be patient. It will come around for u. It's a fantastic fucking album, I have gone back and forth with 5ing this, just feels more comfy at 4.5 rn

I'll give it proper time just like the other ones, challenging band, and yeah, the 4.5's are the "i feel like loving you but don't wanna rush things" rate

Yeah I mean don't get me wrong, I had this at 5 for years. I think that was the honeymoon phase. It's still a stellar album, just not 5.0-worthy personally anymore. I have 3 neurosis albums at 5 anyways lol

My brain is rejecting it right now cuz A Sun was already emotionally draining, this goes for the same route and i was not expecting it, i wanted it to be different this time, is this the go to style for the subsequent albums? super sludgy and gloomy
