Hmmm nice bump. This album has a bad rep for no reason at all, totally slays and some of their best tracks.

Tt is basically top one Opeth, pretty much the most perfect song they wrote. Wreath is the band’s most brutal song ever. However I don’t care too much for many of the other tracks to be honest.

The lamentations live version of tt is probably the definitive version. Martin lopez’s drumming is some next level shit.

Wreath, t/t and A Fair Judgement are my faves here. For Absent Friends is beautiful too. Love the rest as well but those are up there for me.

My god Lark haven't you done that yet?!??! Oh man I'm happy for you that this journey is still available to you! Go in, and enjoy, one of the best metal bands ever.
Where to start though? Ghost Reveries maybe? Or Blackwater Park? That was where I started. Or My Arms Your Hearse? Or Still Life?

The title-track's ending riff that gets repeated like a hundred times is like the best thing ever.
