well a lot of the hooks seem to almost be mocking other mainstream styles of rap (yah, element, loyalty, love, fear, god) and if you look at the hooks by themselves without any focus on beat, harmony, production, composition they seem mindless and reminiscent of 2017's style of rap. But that is legitimately the point of this album, kendrick like "sold his soul" to mainsteam rap or whatever giving this album the hell on earth vibe. Where this album really rises above is in the composition of the tracks, yes even tracks like element and god, and if all you can see is the initial first impression from only the hooks in those songs, u viewing this album terribly wrong. there are issues with this alb, but they aren't found on the hooks in the least bit
