AAA games are usually like $20 within a year of release.

Yeah Million it’s technically the same if you account for the conversion rate but it feels like more you know? Damn near $100 for one game. And ghostbird Nintendo games rarely go down in price and that’s what I mostly play
Inb4 “play real man games like COD”

The last good COD was MW2.
|

But seriously I mean a cursory Amazon search shows TLOU2 is already down to $30, Ghosts of Tsushima is $40... these are first party blockbusters that just recently released.

i have a switch and i've never paid full price for a game. I waited for boxing day to get odyssey and botw for $50 each
|

If you have a modicum of patience $100 should be able to get you 5 goty/complete editions of the biggest/best games out there within 18 months of release.
How horrific.

I guess you could wait for boxing day but that’s only for retail stores right? My collection is all digital, having to carry around games everywhere really ruins the convenience of the Switch imo. And I just looked it up and Super Mario Galaxy for the wii which came out in 2007 is $100 on amazon lol

but yeah the sales are digital too dude, just keep an eye out
|

Yea key I saw that at Costco for like $30, that's like 10 KH games for $3 a pop or whatever lol
PS4 is budget friendly as all hell.

@Half: Specialization and knowledge are quite the thing to champion when education itself has a pay barrier and is a moneymaking institution. You have to buy in or luck in and droves of people can't. We're arguing for a level playing field. In all aspects of society, not even just economically. These things feed into one another.
The massive disparity among your typical CEO or large business owner and the people on the bottom rungs of a company being chewed up and spit out, to no inconvenience of the CEO, has to be exponentially shrunk. Capitalism is making no moves to do that as costs rise and the average worker's wages stay the same. Rn it literally is just a system for a fraction of the population to horde the wealth while everyone else worries about wtf they're going to do, all under the blanket of "growth". What are we advancing towards exactly? Are we making technology and products for the betterment of all human life or are we just making technology so other people have to give us money for it?
@Colt: "Damn near $100 for one game." Yeah it's goddamn stupid.

“whatever system that is must be concerned with the morality and ethics of its institutions above all else”
but morality is relatively fluid so everyone within that society would have to come to a consensus on what is moral and ethical
“but first we have to liberate people from their own greed and selfishness, and i do not see how a system that lauds and rewards selfish, narcissistic hedonism above all else will ever furnish the conditions necessary to create this kind of society.“
I’m not sure how we liberate people from a very basic part of their nature voluntarily
