@Elephant,

Never said The Faceless was the worst band in the history of all music ever, just that they're garbage. Compiling a list of other shitty techy artists doesn't make these clowns any better, just stands as testament to how laughable this whole God damn scene is.

Whoever said The Discovery is the definitive sumeriancore album is def right. Even though I really dont like Born of Osiris. I think the discovery is decent. Btw i been bumping this and akeldama in my car the last few days. And honestly, i used to be into tech death more before, now not so much. And i dont see how whoever said this album is consisted of 90% chugging, could say that. I would say this contains as much chugging as any other metal album. I mean come one, all metal has a good bit of chugging.

I personally can't stand black metal. I like mathy spastic aggressive shit. Although I like some atmospheric stuff, just never got the appeal of black metal.

Throwing some black metal into any kind of metal will make it better. Just listen to The Siren's Song by Slice the Cake, that black metal part is fucking dope

@porcupine I listed artists that fit the stereotype that tech death typically relies on 'polyrhythms and shreds that sounds almost as mechanical as the drums', and this album is certainly nothing like that...and I refuse to believe you would enjoy Origin or Necrophagist and say that this 'relies solely on polyrhythms and shreds'

yeah even a tinge of black metal makes everything better, especially techdeath

Origin is mental

I mean, I enjoy Origin for how much further it goes - it sounds much more insane and twisted than anything like this, there's an atmosphere of chaos that backs up the music.

Not a fan of Necrophagist, though. I think their stuff is pretty much the origin (Hey!) point of all this sterile tech shit we got now.
