Gilmour is fucking amazing on every song (presuming you're talking vocally Jamie, but either way) but Waters does a damn fine job on the vocals of Sheep imo. And yeah, THAT fucking riff in the climax of Sheep.

I was talking in terms of his vocals and his guitar playing. Dogs has his best guitar performance imo. Those 4 solos, omg.

The guitar solos on Dogs are fucking orgasmic.

Fair enough, but it's his vocals that make him one of my favourite musicians not his guitarwork (as amazing as it may be), just me I suppose. He does level cities on Dogs though.

@Rowan: Really? He's a great singer but it's his guitar playing that makes him really special imo.

I'm not too big a fan of guitar in general, it bores me quite often. Gilmour, of course, is an exception to this cos he's great at guitar, but for me music is all about vocals and Gilmour is pretty much the best there is so yeah, just how I feel about it.

Agreed, his singing is really good but his guitar work is phenomenal. Think it was Dave Mustaine who said that he can do more with one note than most guitarists can do with an entire fret board.

Ah, well I'm the opposite. I've always appreciated guitar playing and musicianship in general more than vocals.

Guitarists who focus too much on soloing get boring imo.

Gilmour is a prime example of a non-boring guitarist.

Gilmour never wastes a note bro. His solos are perfectly timed and chosen.

Gilmour pulls off the crazy soloing way better than most (except on The Division Bell, it really got tiring there) but yeah for me vocals are literally the most important feature of music so that's how it goes for me. Gilmour, along with Wright, are pretty much my two favourite singers so no matter how much I appreciate his guitar skills it's always gonna be his vocals that do it for me.
