Finally gave this a good number of listens and i still think still life is better. Still an awesome album but i think dirge for november lets the side down as it isn't as good as the other songs on the album.

Still Life is perfection but I love the atmosphere of B/Park even better. The anthemic effect of a cascading wall of guitars throughout is brilliant.

@ kangaroopoo - i know what you mean the guitars at the end of the drapery falls are absoloutly beautiful. Still need to get the rest of their discog only got BP, SL. Ghost reveries and damnation have just arrived though woohoo!

Ghost was the first Opeth album I ever listened to, so that might have an effect on what I love most.

it was almost everyones first opeth album and tbqh i think thats the only reason it gets so much love. its an excellent album and everything but idk its just not in the same league as the early stuff

Perdition City is great too. I didn't say some of their later albums weren't really good I'm just saying overall I think Opeth has more great albums.

So far so amazingly good. Keep in mind this is practically the first opeth album I'm listening to. I've only listened to Leper Affinity and Bleak so far and I am already blown away. I'm going to listen to the rest today.
