funny because for me Marrow was released at that time. I think it was the first leaked album I ever downloaded. all off the strength of this record. it's nearly perfect. still prob my fav production job in metal. the sound of that snare drum is one for the ages

Checked this out for week 2 of Boney’s Black Metal January Journey (whether the remainder of the month will continue this is up in the air; is this even black metal?) and quite enjoyed it! Plenty of stuff to dig which I bet will reward repeated spins but the way the best moments made me feel reminded me of when I got into Alcest for the first time so I have a feeling this could be the start of a great journey with these guys.

Agalloch is (slightly) more problematic Alcest for (slightly) less wimpy kids so this based and understandable wooo

you should check The White EP Boney. It's the best thing they've done

I’ll keep that in mind, The Mantle will almost certainly be my next stop but a discog run is likely to eventually happen.

Pale folklore through marrow is one of the best 4 album runs of any band

I know right, second half of Falling Snow is nothing short of transcendent. I was kinda obsessed with it for a number of months. This band really was something so special.

I never forget, would probably 5 without the (actual, not bonus) closer dragging somewhat towards the back end

(didn't see Boney getting into this, wholesome occurrence - and yes, this is more post than black to me)

Fire Above, Ice Below came up in my recommended listens and I've been playing it over and over ever since, incredible track--it's time to give this album a spin.

after years of consideration I think this is undeniably the best one.

fire above, ice below is a once in a lifetime kind of track.

this one's blockbuster production and some of its cheesier melodic moments (heya Fallen Snow) have somewhat fallen off for me over time, but it's still a damn strong record
v much agreed on Fire Above, probably the best Agalloch track overall
