i have indian summer and maximillian colby, though the latter I've yet to make through. the couple songs I've checked out on their discography sound bland.

I don't care about the production really, It's more that I wish they had distinguishable riffs and that the vocalists were better. And that if they're gonna be all spastic and throw song structure out the window (which is totally fine btw), they should bridge the gaps between parts somehow so it isn't so jolting and actually gives the impression of a story rather than of a shitty hardcore album with a pussy vocalist thrown into a blender and badly taped back together.

That's just me though.

This album definitely has enough diversity. I do wish that I could hear the individual guitar parts better though, when they do go insane.

I've listened to like Anomie, Orchid, Rites of Spring, Heroin, Hoover, Native Nod, Moss Icon, etc. and I generally prefer modern screamo by far. Not that I don't enjoy them, but it's more just cool to listen to how that sound evolved into the more modern sound that really turns me on.

Anomie and Orchid both own though, btw. And Moss Icon is also very cool.

I think I prefer the post-rock influenced screamo more than the Off Minor type. This, pg. 99, and CoC are my favorites.

sniper - agreed, especially the long discographies, I just can't get through most of them... but it's well-worth listening to them, provided me with a different approach to the genre in general, and it's still awesome.

Definitely. It's sweet to know the roots of the current scene, especially when I love the current scene so much haha. Discogs are hard to sit through though, especially since they're mostly made up of songs that were intended to be heard live or on super short splits, not hour-long emo run-on sentences if that makes sense.
