I am strangely nostalgic for a lot of the early to mid 2020 releases, it was a weird time to be listening to music during such a time of uncertainty.

2020 was the year I got back into discovering music the way I used to and it felt really good to get into so many new artists and genres. plus I just remember it being a really nice summer. but maybe I'm just missing summer in general. winter sucks

summer 2020 felt good because we learned it was (generally speaking) covid-safe to be outside and people were recovering from being cooped up inside and scared. instead we got to be scared but outside and being outside is nice

the emphasis was on social distancing but some states did lock down a little at the start. For a few weeks PA had a lock down, I live in a very small town but mainstreet was literally dead every morning for those weeks, it was eerie.

"were people seriously not going outside because of covid?"

in the very early days of the pandemic when we didn't really know how it spread and thought close contact with anyone was risky, yeah. that didn't last too long, obviously

plus the semi-lockdowns like zaruyache said

dude I barely left my house for like the first four weeks.

I guess it might just depend on where you are, but yeah, people weren’t leaving their houses in a lot of places.

Just got through my first listen of Boygenius. Half of it is fantastic, have to see if the rest grows on me.

Agreed. I like Stranger in the Alps but this is such a huge improvement.

And shit I didn’t know the new boygenius dropped already. Definitely gonna have to spin that

“ An album that redefines collaboration on a spiritual level. ... 12 poetically moving pieces of art that focus on emotions and environments most would attempt to ignore.”

have just realised that there's a now a possible timeline in which phoebe and bo's kid gets hitched with taylor and matty healy's kid and produce a child who is uniquely and perfectly placed to finally record the worst album humanity has ever known
