A Single Tear would be so much better without the chorus and the chorus/outro bit

I don't mind that part, especially because the part right after is so badass with Bannon trying something new and nailing it

I’d cry if I found out I was gonna be a father. Probably not the way you guys are thinking, but I’d cry nonetheless

A Single Tear is so beautiful. Idk the idea of having a child that gave you a reason to live after battling a life of depression is just too moving, even as someone who's not really interested in kids. And compositionally it's up there with the best Converge songs.

I think I've come to like this album more than AWLWLB. It's such a varied and expansive listen, while, as amazing as AWL is, it can sound like Converge on autopilot at points.

Interesting opinion! I find this to be Converge on autopilot and AWLWLB to be a near masterpiece. Funny how differently people hear things

Yeah, I feel AWLWLB can run together at times while this I found most songs here to be memorable and stand well on their own (the opening 4, the t/t (which has become a top 5 song of theirs for me) "Trigger" and "Thousands of Miles..." to name a few). It's been quite a grower but I love it as much as everything else they've done now.

i'm not the biggest awlwlb fan but i don't see how there would be any truth to this

I mean, Converge on autopilot is still some of the best metalcore you'll ever hear. I guess "autopilot" wasn't the best way to describe it. I just think there are too many songs that tend to have the same approach.

sure, but it has its distinct sound and style. i agree with xing on that this feels a bit more like "autopilot" in the sense that it doesn't really bring in any new ideas. it's still a 4 though because i'm just extremely glad it exists
