Sapphire is incredible with repeated listens, and I wasn't actually that keen on it when it was released. An excellent example of why listening to singles ahead of time might not always be for the best. L'île des morts is hands down my favourite from the record now, and I can only say it again, the record is absolutely perfect in my eyes.
And yes, the bass is a massive step up. The basslines on the opener alone, are enough to leave that impression.
