Mix sounds better than Sorceress though, so that's at least good. A little sharper with more depth and room for the different instruments.

Yeah production sounds great tbh, but this is probably the heaviest bit of the album lol

Yeah, the mix already sounds better than Sorceress, but still getting Sorceress vibes from it.

But hey, that's only 30 seconds, we'll see what the rest of the album brings to the table : )

Eh I feel that snipped could've fit on Watershed as well as on Sorceress tbh.

Now this has a little mire going on so I'm optimistic, but yea, Sorceress vibes definitely

Most apprehensive about Mike's singing actually. The ''I feel like asking too much of my voice gives it character''-statement he made in an interview about the album got me worried, because that is exactly what I dislike on Sorceress (and PC).

Even if there's literally one line of lyrics with growling, I'll be happy. Although, obviously more would be even better xD

Production sounds much better already and Axe is killing it as usual.

Sadly it's already been confirmed in interviews that the album is growl-free and the name Pink Floyd was thrown around if I remember well. There should be a link to an interview a couple of pages ago.

I think it's perfectly clear and evident that growls are definitely dead to Akerfeldt and we must live with it. We mustn't live in the past. The band changed and evolved to another stage. This is perfectly clear to me, can we like or not.

He doesnt do growls anymore because he cant. If you've heard him do ghost of perdition in past few years, it's pretty obvious that he's struggling on the growling sections

Yeah, I agree. The guy isn't properly a kid and his growls were always natural. So, he must live with the reality, as we too.

Maybe a growler for live shows would make sense at this point, because I fear Mike could ruin his cleans as well if he continues doing them. Tbh I think he should quit doing them completely

Yeah that's an option. He could just do them only in studio if he could manage that. I think he also does just wanna go in the lighter prog rock direction though anyway

He'd probably have to replace the current guitarist or keyboardist with someone that can growl though and he probably wouldnt wanna do that

I absolutely agree. I think he embraced a different path, perhaps a bit more prog in the 70's classic style. Probably courtesy of his friend Steven Wilson.
