I just saw the Rock Am Ring pro footage from this year's show.
Mikael's growls are officially gone.

I guess it's not a bad thing just as long as they keep honing in on and expanding upon the new sound.

Cusp of Eternity was great, but Eternal Rains Will Come is awesome! Sounds kind of like half-way between Damnation and Ghost Reveries. Album's gonna be a 4 at least

Agreed, and I'm excited for that 10 minute one, didn't the reviewer say it sounded like old school
Opeth?
|
| |
The 10 minute one and the last track are the ones I'm stoked for. According to the reviewer, I should be expecting tears

He says:
" "Track Three" is one of those songs where you don't even realize eleven minutes has passed because you're enjoying the music so much."
He doesn't mention old-school Opeth in this one, but he says there is one track that sounds like pure Opeth doing Opeth. So yeah, I'm really excited about it, also the last song, of which SW said it's the most beautiful thing Mikael has ever written

Where did SW say that?
|
| |
Fuck yeah. If that last track is anything better than Coil, Isolation Years and the acoustic part of Bleak, I may just fall in love

And could someone tell why the fuck Heritage has the same overall rating than DT's self-titled?

Wow you're right what a travesty, same with Storm Corrosion which is better than all
|

Yeah, well to me Heritage and Storm Corrosion are pretty much equal, but both kick DT's ass hard
|
| |
Storm Corrosion > DT's RR years. I would love another album like that

Yeah plus this and SC are insanely interesting and complex and replayable, whereas new DT just sounds worse the more you hear it and realize what it actually is

SC > most DT albums

Yeah, I kind of liked the new DT at first... But honestly I haven't touched it more than once since. And yeah, another Storm Corrosion, maybe with a slightly different sound or vibe just not to be too repetitive, would be awesome

Album Rating: 3.5
I am not sure if Pale Communion or the new Storm will be better. I liked Heritage more than their first collaboration, but by
only a small margin.
|
| |
SC is the opposite of DT's overly wank solo stuff and I love how anti-technical it is.
