Another insane thing: Dutch women got the right to vote in 1919.
Hrm, it was 1915 in Denmark.

Yeah, it's so weird to think about how much has changed in that relatively short period; yet how much there still is to improve.

Wasn't it something crazy like the 60's in Switzerland

Omg yes. On Wikipedia:
''Women obtained the right to vote in national elections in 1971.[68] Women obtained the right to vote at local canton level between 1959 (Vaud and Neuchâtel in that year) and 1972, except for 1990 in Appenzell.[69] See also Women's suffrage in Switzerland.''

Turns out most of our History lessons were about hiding how immensely stupid and delusional people were in the immediate past.
Because the logical conclusion is that we still have little idea what's going on. But that attitude is bad for the economy and/or national culture.

Yeah. I find it immensely arrogant that most people don't seem to realise that we still probably don't know anything. Why would we suddenly after 100,000s of years (ahem I mean 6,000, sorry God) suddenly know how the world works?
Or maybe even worse: that our current society will last forever, being the pinnacle of development? If I know one thing for sure: it isn't going to happen.

Some people go nuts if you question their ancestors. Most of their identity hinges on their family and culture being right.
If you mention that past generations were harmfully ignorant, they take it personally.

Calling people of the past ignorant is showing the ignorance of the present

Yes. All of us were and are ignorant (and will be). I'm not saying we aren't ignorant. And I'm sure Egarran didn't mean that either.

Yeah, I hope I wouldn't have done any of that, but you can never be sure what you'd do in such a situation.

Picture humans in 100 years looking back.
Pretty sure we wont be seen as rational, scientific beings.

Exactly. But hey, it won't be us looking back!

Hopefully by then they don't consider rationality as the highest virtue

Nice point. Let's hope they shake their heads at our antiquated idea of rationality.

People in 100 years had better still be jamming this album
