They both hold up, Absence has that dark vibe going and one of the best closers ever. WR has godlike production, great melodies and riffs too

The other band members probably like the later albums considering they had more writing input.

I thought the same thing of Absence for so long...yet would keep revisiting it over and over until I couldn’t say there was a bad moment on that thing.

Dunno, guess Absence takes more time to appreciate. I remember having 1000 Shards and Garden of Light on repeat when started to really dig that album

Absence is underrated imo. Dulcinea, Holy Tears and Garden of Light are amongst their best songs.

Remaster Absence? Yes please. Wavering Radiant? They better not touch arguably my favorite record of all time. Joe Barresi did a phenomenal job.

WR is my favorite drumming record of all time.

Garden Of Light is my second fav Isis song.

I still think In Fiction is the highlight here.

This is more popular and probably a tad better musically. But oceanic holds a special place in my heart. Both are pretty epic and heavy imo but for me oceanic hits some really gut-churning emotional moments (carry, weight, from sinking etc)
