as much fun as showing up in a full business suit at a halloween party for subversion's sake. doesn't know whether it wants to be wacky or not.
sound palette and structure are too drab to fully enter sporkcore territory, but at the same time it's all over the place, not wanting to adhere to standards. just falls awkwardly in between the two points without accomplishing anything.
king for a day does this scatterbrained concept a lot better, and AOTY+SI make an earnest attempt at reeling themselves in and focusing on sounding good rather than pushing an evelope or whatever the fuck.

People who use the term sporkcore unironically are hard to take seriously I’m sorry

i'm not the one who insists on devolving language, but i am a slave to it nonetheless
if it were up to me, using "-core" as a suffix to describe anything not derived from hardcore punk or techno would incur a fine
same with the word "unironically" but let's not get too pedantic here
tl;dr album's just not as good as the others i'm sorry

if you're gonna post takes this awful plz do yourself a favour and confine them to language that doesn't imply that you've put earnest thought and effort into how to express them jfc

(post)irony and its consequences have been disastrous for mankind
now nobody can be sincere without being questioned as to their intention

Probably the only artist out of approximately 16,000 I've heard that I can't get into even if I put their songs on repeat 24/7. Could be that their music just sucks and kinda sounds like a puked energy drink?

Soaring choruses, amazing riffs, outstanding rhythms all wrapped around a band who offered up an actual alternative and did it on their own terms despite ripping off the chilli peppers to a degree.
