“only people who think nightmare is "generic radio metal" are people who already disliked them“
This may be half true. I was a huge city of evil fan, then didn’t care much for the self titled and then thought nightmare was just generic radio metal (still do, just sounds cheesy to me).
Again, I was very surprised to see the overwhelming nightmare love on the site. Sincerely thought this was a universal opinion but I was very wrong.

@Flug ... if you go one page back right here, you will find:
"idk how it was received on a grander scale but when i say Nightmare was the album of my friend group, i really mean it was THE album of my friend group when it dropped." - Grey
"and Nightmare is fantastic.....Save Me is one of my favorite songs by them, easily top 5" - Titan
"save me used to be my favorite for a long time yeah" - Neek
"nightmare i'd say is probably their most universally beloved album among their fanbase... and was probably their peak in relevance as well tbh." - Alex K

ya fans in general love Nightmare. I have one friend that has basically ignored everything after it but that’s their favorite record.

Based on all your thoughts I have given Save Me a spin since I have never made it far enough into the album to hear the closer. I really really don’t care for the singing, lyrics or anything about the verses/chorus. BUT shredding from 4:50 - 6:10 was wonderful. I also can appreciate how much they really went for it with making a super grand track. It’s just cheesy to me. I have no nostalgia tied to it though.

I think a lot of it hits or misses depending on how attached you were to the band when the rev passed.
Yeah a lot of it is some cornball shit but So Far Away and Victim hit really hard lyrically to me.
The fact that the band persevered through that is incredible to me, I was young at the time but I was convinced the band was just gonna quit after Nightmare.

No GOD trilogy at last night's show (that sucks). Apparently, Syn injured himself during The Stage which yielded a 20 minute delay, so they had to cut the encore.

These guys cannot fill seats like they used, can they?
Was just able to snag 4 tickets to their show for $80. Crappy seats but hey for $20 a piece it's still worth it for Alexisonfire alone

alexisonfire continue to be one of the very best live bands in the game. george and dallas both sounded perfect. blue spade into dogs blood was absolutely my highlight across both bands performances
also hope syn heals up soon. poor dude is a trooper for pulling through the whole show

he apparently finished the show from backstage while they wrapped up his leg, backing vocals and all. goddamn

And if they hate playing Hail to the King they didn't show it here. Hyped it up pretty hard before they went into it and the crowd loved that one too
The new stuff sounded really good live though. It's a shame we only got one song from each WtF and CoE though
