veks i'd say this, SATH, and mariner are their most accessible records so start with those.

I say, go chrono. Mariner is their most basic album, very lacking in the dynamics department. Julie's vocal performance is its only redeeming quality.



If you want crushing heaviness, first two should sort you out, especially Beyond. Fucking classic, that album.

@Veks: this is a fine place to start, so is SATH, so is just going chrono (although The Beyond is better than the debut in every aspect, so you can maybe skip the t/t unless you get really into them). I know that's a 'non-committal' answer, but you can't really fail with these guys. One of the most consistent bands in the known universe.
