You'll probably like the new one then because most of it is mid tempo groove oriented

I personally think this is better though

Judging from the singles I don't see how the new one can be better tbh

Yeah the new singles def aren't anything amazing, but I'm reserving judgement until I get to listen to it in full.

Still, it's gonna me like mid-tier at the end of the year, I'm sure.

I am open to be surprised of course. A few awesome songs are always welcome. This had it's fair share of great cuts too

think last night i figured out what the single worst lars performance is: "just a bullet away" from the beyond magnetic ep

woulda been such a banger with a more capable drummer (seems like something tailor made for chris adler in particular) but lars straight up ruins that song

Perhaps, but overall, Metallica wouldn't be any better as a whole if the drums were more technical or creative. The simplicity of them suits their brand.

Yea, I would prefer the drums to be more musical though

@titan oh yeah i'm generally pretty pro-lars and completely agree with you, but that is the one particular song where i think "yeah lars is seriously holding this back". it has a triplet feel nothing else in their discog really has and its obvious lars doesn't know how to handle it (or even know what to play during the chorus). would guess that's why it didn't make the album

I made a condensed tracklist of this I called "Rewired"

1. Hardwired

2. Atlas Rise!

3. Dream No More

4. Halo On Fire

5. Moth Into Flame

6. Now That We're Dead

7. Spit Out The Bone

I tried to pay tribute to the traditional formula of their early albums. If there was an Instrumental it would fit between 6 and 7 of course

kalk I might give that a shot considering how little I remember of this record.

I remember the title track and spit out the bone, and the title track is really only because of that cornball chorus (I still love it tho)

@Wildcard: I can only recommend it. These songs are actually quite memorable imo, even though they're hard on the edge of being self ripoffs. Some might include other tracks like Confusion or Revenge, but I don't cate about these personally. I tried to go for 0% fat.

Hey kalk…..I’d have your Rewired rated at least a 4, more like a 4.2 or so
