The ones I know would be like "they're just hitting things as hard as they can! That's not music!"

Well I guess listening to opeth would be easier than say a band like Behemoth. Still BWP has growls and he only commented once on them.

I believe Opeth are better than Behemoth. More varied... Now, I am not well aware of Behemoth's music, but from what I've seen (most likely, heard) they are not my cup of tea.

Some of the tracks from The Satanist, I like, tho.

Yes, much better, but that wasn't his point. However, it's worth noting the guy actually ended up embracing the song lengths. You can't imagine how many people are put off by that and don't even bother listening.

He seems like he's very experienced when it comes to music, so I doubt that would've been a put-off anyway. It's not like he was coming into it off the back of listening to nothing but Jason Derulo etc

Haa!! I winder how my old classmates would react to this and all I can think is

''OMG!Turn this shit off! You can't even understand what he's saying! OMG, so long tracks, I'm bored! It's just noise...'' *Sigh*

"The bad guys won, didn't they?"

That was actually a pretty good read. The great thing about it was the guy had an open mind about everything BWP had to offer, including the lengthy song times. I think if you kind of force someone to listen to a song that is much too long for their liking, they're simply going to be thinking that it goes on for too long and are bored of it. However, if they listen to it because they're curious and they want to, don't think the song time will hinder enjoyment, that is if they enjoy everything else.

This might be their most melancholic and deep album now that I think about it, maybe that's why I love it so much

Talons, did you read the reddit thing on the page before? If you haven't you should definitely do so now.

Definitely their most melancholic and I think the production finds perfect balance here

Sadly, most die hard hip hop fans I've come across aren't as open minded as that guy
