Seriously though, it doesn't deserve a 5. I don't know why I did that really, but there are too many bland tracks for it to be a perfect record for me. 4 or 4.5
I've been on a bad music kick lately

If you like the genre I'd say it's one of the better/best releases of the last 5 years.

At least someone else on this website has given a BMTH album a 5. I'm happy I'm not alone.

I agree with Gonzo. And Choccy, I have no idea what you classify as a fanatic, but I assure you that you're not one. Growing up listening to MODERN metalcore (foregoing bands like Shai Hulud, Isis, Converge, Botch), they've done things most mainstream bands couldn't dream of touching. If you don't like breakdowns, or the genre itself, it's understandable why you'd dislike them, but I can't find an album that's nearly as popular, in the genre, that comes close to theirs.

I'd probably give this a 4.7 if I could. And I've listened to the classics, don't worry. I love Botch,
and Converge has been steadily growing on me

This is one of two albums they have released that are worth listening to, the other being sempiternal. They were never any good at doing deathcore

Suicide Season was one of the better takes at your everyday metalcore. Converge and Botch are SLOWLY growing on me...and I mean very slowly, but Shai Hulud are killer. Love them haha.

I made a bmth ranked list, still haven't posted.
Suicide Season(song) made the cut. I went all fucking out on the description
The closer to Suicide Season. This was the track that was hinted at throughout Suicide Season, with the little electronic flourishes and moments of lyrical prowess in the band. The track starts out with blaring, yet subdued guitars. Oli’s voice takes the same characteristics, before roaring and the guitars blasting to their full potential. No time for farewells, no chances for goodbyes. No explanations, no fucking reasons why. I watched it eat you up, pieces falling on the floor. We stare at broken clocks, the hands don't turn anymore. The guitars soar and Oliver’s voice shifts seamlessly between growls and screams. It seems a slower song would be more appropriate for the lyrical content, but that hits at the halfway mark. The ambience hits harder than the guitars did, with Oliver whispering over the electronics. If only sorrow could build a staircase, or tears could show the way. We would climb our way to heaven, and bring him home again. The guitars ascend to stratospheric heights with Oliver’s voice as he desperately screams and mourns for the loss of his friend. This is Suicide Season.
