paul was honestly a bit of an asshole when i met him and they all come off as extremely full of themselves in interviews. i actually dig it though, like when every other death metal band just markets themselves as 23 year old alcoholic bros in jeans and big sneakers its cool to have some bands keeping the theatrical aspect of metal alive. sure its pretentious but i like that its not just a fun side hobby for these dudes, theyre actual freaks who are basically societally crippled by their zeal for metal
