I'm okay with him going more mainstream if he wants, but some of the songs just go too far into that territory like Love, Loyalty, and God.

Love and God both have their clear pleasure points tho.

this is severely addicting once you get past the shock of the mainstream approach. I mean the musicianship is clearly not quite as good, but I might enjoy listening to this more than tpab. the music is just so pleasurable and the lyrics while simple at times never shake the symbolic parable-ish vibe of a god damn prophet

I actually agree with clint--not sure what it is but one of the two of "Fear" or "Lust" seems to mess the album's flow up

It def isn't "FEAR." because the transition between "XXX." and "FEAR." is flawless.

This grew on me quite a bit but I still get why it would disappoint or underwhelm some

It has that 'mixtape' feel. I never listened to TPAB but madd city definitely felt like a concept album. there's really not much tying these songs together besides the outro/intro and a few lines here and there. From what I understand tpab was pretty cohesive too, maybe people were expecting more of that?

Loyalty has some nice melodies and morals but its the most skippable thing here. Other than that this album is excessively listenable and I haven't put it down since it got released. And anyone who says this album doesn't have flow is straight up wrong lol, every track has thematic and musical elements that tie them to the songs before and after them which makes this exetremely easy to listen to front to back. I gotta bump my score finally

This grew off me somewhat. The producer tags and lines like "if I gotta slap a pussy ass nigga imma make it look sexy" are just annoying to my ears
