"There's an argument to be made for violence being worse but I have no issue with Spotify censoring it, prevents some 10 year old kid from stumbling across it and being blasted with the unwanted image of a bunch of naked old people"
you do realize Spotify's got a parental control, right? which should apply for what type of artwork we'd like blocked or not and not only lyrical explicit content
there are literal hundreds of thousands of kids out there who manage to listen to shit like W.A.P on their own, but good thing the app got that nasty ass nudity all covered

that's kind of an appeal to futility argument though, just because they can find explicit content elsewhere doesn't mean that should impact Spotify's censorship policies. but it's not even about just that, I also personally just don't mind. Never seen an album cover with censored nudity and thought "dammit, wish they hadn't censored this." just google it or look it up on here then

nothing external, such as the fact that kids can search up anime titties and demon dicks on the interwebz, should impact or dÃctate the company's censorship policies, but that itself should be more logical and less one sided, after all, a good portion of users subscribe to it's services, which should allow you to watch whichever artwork you feel like, the way the artists, from which Spotify also profits from, intended to

I don't think anyone's too pressed about Spotify preventing them from seeing Zach Hill's dick or some grandma boobs. I doubt it ranks among the most common reasons for cancelled memberships

also Spotify offers paid subscription which you need to set up things as Parental Control, man you are one dense motherfucker

if you have to pay to access the parental controls that makes it even more reasonable for Spotify to want to censor explicit images... and you're calling me dense, yikes

*blocks nudity*
*allows gore, ocultist imagery, profanity and other questionable artwork as well as thousands of hours of streamable explicit music content*
spotify: "oh don't mind me folks, I'm just out here being reasonable lol"

Goodness looks beautiful on Spotify compared to Two Virgins tbh, but why listen to either on there when you could be listening to the cropped version of Aratamemashite Hajimemashite Midori Desu
