@Jam: because it doesnt build up to the chaos, it just hits you immediately. Even this has some sort of buildup.

Define is better, but LITSOS is far from weak

had they not released anything else after that
it'd be glaringly a weaker release overall. thought so back then when it came out after being such a fan of Define, still think so now.

I prefer separation over define probs
|

LITSOS is the heaviest, dtgl is the best
this can get fucked besides in division and paper lung

Album Rating: 3.5
nah not the heaviest, when changing also exists lol
some parts on LITSOS has some damp reverb-drenched sections that aren't that exciting

def prefer lost in the sound to define. define rules but a lot of the songs blend a little too much. lost in the sound takes what define did, makes it heavier and more aggresive and also adds more variety to it so clear upgrade imo

i fuckin hate Dallas era Underoath so i definitely exclude it. i also live where he lives and have been plagued by awful stories about him for yeeeears fuck that guy
idk tho breathing in a new mentality I think is their hardest song, especially since i remember it seeming to be about withdrawal from uppers. if i heard it for the first time now i may not have that opinion tho

" i also live where he lives and have been plagued by awful stories about him for yeeeears fuck that guy"
I've heard nothing but the tragedies that followed the dude, but the inverse is kinda interesting..
but yea the black metal vox with that 2002 metalcore that meatheads back then would label as "scene" still rules, not all of the songs are winners but I'd still take some of them over what's on LITSOS.
When the Sun Sleeps, The Best of Me, Never Meant.., and that Adrienne song still rip.

"breathing in a new mentality I think is their hardest song"
