That's not how he always wrote music, plenty of the material before TSOP at the very least had some sense of cohesion. TSOP does not, and it's not aided by a production job that's very weak as well as those terrible vocals.

As the band grew further away from actually making death metal the music got increasingly less cohesive, but TSOP is on another plane.
